My latest mixset, mixed on Turntables, introduces a range of new tunes and takes the listener on another defined journey. Lots of good tribal beats, which make this set perfect for a Saturday night party. Keep an ear open for “I Make You GaGa” by David Morales. I’ve included the original mix here, but I am remixing the tune with DJQ, so stay tuned for that release coming soon.

Mixed on turntables, my latest mix starts with some feel good discohouse tunes featuring some incredible vocals and awesome sounds that comprise the discohouse tradition (think Hed Kandi). The set journeys through to the more serious realm of dance music before finishing on “Crazy”, always a favorite of mine.

My latest journey travels through several realms, beginning with good chunky beats — light on the vocal, building into some good funk grooves and peaking with some energizing electro. The progression here is an obvious and continual build up.

Maestro B - Don’t Leave Me This Way

The vocal track from Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes “Don’t Leave Me This Way” is beautiful. I’ve used part of it to build this track. The sweet soulful Melvin vocals compliments nicely the down-to-business dance beat in this tune. Its a wonderful contrast of sounds which takes the dance floor from a slow melodic groove into a jumping frenzy of ecstasy. Wow! Never thought I’d write a sentence like that.

Maestro B - Sing It

I’ve had an amazing couple of weeks - played at some great parties and heard some incredible DJs. Last night we put on a Rave for my DJ students. This gave them the opportunity to play out for the first time and I was thrilled with how well they went. Looks like the world now has some new DJs.
