Welcome to the next set in the “Powerful House” series from NaJ. This is a pleasing soulful house set. NaJ weaves a nice blend of tracks featuring the usual funky basslines, choppy organ/synth grooves, jazzy piano, and a persuasive dance beat. I always enjoy listening to NaJ’s deep house sets. The tunes are so nicely laid back.

Here’s the latest mix set. A couple of new tracks in here, including “Piano Track” and (yet another) remix of “Watchin’”.

I’ve made a couple of changes to the way I do things. Since my sets are now being played on 88.7 PulzarFM, I am recording at higher quality (192 kbps). This sounds sweet. Unfortunately my storage space would run out really quick if I put too many at that quality online. In fact, the 128 kbps sets consume too much space. So I have made a sort of compromise. Instead of putting up a low quality 32 kbps version along with a 128 kbps version, I am re-encoding the 192 kbps set at 64 kbps (per channel). This sounds pretty good and saves server space. The smaller file size also means that I should be able to archive more sets.

Right, that’s the technical stuff out of the way, now enjoy this set…

House music legend, Roger Sanchez, provides his latest mixed set featured on KTU’s Dance Factory. Roger Sanchez mixes up a perfect Friday night set, featuring a range of new tracks including a remix of house classic “Show me love”. The music here represents a good sample of the house sound. It doesn’t venture too far into the deephouse sound. It remains true to the upbeat, dance nature of the traditional house sound. Roger’s show is always informative, as he often provides short voice overs describing the tracks and artists he features.

NaJ is back with a fresh set. This is another of his “Powerful House” series and features a pleasing range of tracks from deep house to more upbeat dance sounds. I listened to this set on Sunday morning, while checking my email and generally relaxing. I think the deep soulful nature of this set is perfect for a Sunday morning. Its upbeat, yet relaxing.

I decided to keep this weekly set in the archive. It has a nice range of tracks, which I think could be suited to any party. So feel free to download and try out on your friends.

Check out this mix from Danny Trouse (also see previous Danny Trouse entry). This mix set is called “Tribalism in my Soul” and features another great selection of tracks. From the addictive percussive sounds in the first track through to the increasingly rich sounds as the mix progresses, Danny Trouse takes us on an uplifting journey of dance. This set is very heavy on the synth sounds and contains tracks with creative, persuasive percussion.
