In the mix with NaJ

Category: Mixsets

Just in time for Christmas, NaJ has released his December “Powerful House” mix. The mix starts off with a compelling track featuring an enduring Spanish guitar type sound. From there, NaJ takes us on another journey through his style of deep vocal house sounds. The mix features tracks from Dennis Ferrer, Irfan, Hideo Kobayash and many others. During the party season of Christmas and New Years, why not take some time out and enjoy the deep soulful sounds of NaJ’s December “Powerful House” mix.

The White Elephant trust are starting a dance music radio station here in Christchurch City. Its an exciting project, which I am very happy to be involved with. I will be doing a regular house music show on Tuesday nights. It will be a live 2 hour mix show called “House Renovation–Putting the House back into House”. Until all the slots on the station are filled, we are putting together a series of mixsets to fill in the empty spaces. I recorded this set earlier today for the station playlist.

Its so positive to see the growth of electronica in our city. Each of these projects contributes to the dissemination of great dance music to the people. The more we do this, the more the music gets exposed to people who don’t normally listen to it. That’s a good thing.

By the way…feel free to check out my new myspace page:

Have a very happy Christmas and New Year :)

“School’s Out”! A huge end of exams/Christmas party on Tuesday night. I DJ’d back to back with DJ Tum Tum again–playing an hour long one for one set. The crowd was ready for a party and there was a full dance floor for the entire night. It was great to see such a large crowd waiting outside for the doors to open. We did the first set, and started playing a few minutes before opening just to build the anticipation outside. People came in and straight on to the dancefloor when we finally opened at 9pm. The venue (the Civic) is quite large, so we had a nice big sound system in there.

The other DJs were awesome, and we took the crowd on a fantastic multi-genre journey starting with house, and through to hard-dance. I’ve linked to our set for your listening pleasure. You’ll notice a bit of bass feedback during “Love Sensation”, as we didn’t have adequate foam under the turntables for such a large system. Its not too noticable.
