This mixset is named for my newly produced remix, which I’ve titled “Got To Move”. The purpose of this journey is to showcase my track, which plays first. The rest of the set takes you through some definitive tribal beats before making a timely shift into electro. I chose to end the journey with a wonderful guitar based tune called “Guitarra G” by G Club.

This set will be broadcast on 105.7 PulzarFm and will also feature on my new promo CD giveaway.

Enjoy this 320kbps full quality journey.

My latest mixset recording for PulzarFM was done with Traktor DJ studio, running through a Native Instruments Audio 4 DJ audio interface, all controlled with a Vestax VCI 100 hooked up to my Macbook Pro. I’m no stranger to Traktor and the Vestax, as I used to perform with these a couple of years ago. For various reasons I moved back to CDJs, but have recently decided to continue down the digital path. Traktor opens so many doors for creative DJing, and with the Audio 4, I can continue to use CDJs if I wish by using timecode control CDs. The midi controller is a bit better, though, since it has a huge array of programmable buttons, as well as supporting regular DJ tools such as pitch control, jog wheels, eqs and crossfader.

I have uploaded this mixset in full 320kbps format for higher quality. Depending on my host’s bandwidth and storage limits, I might continue to upload the full quality versions of sets.

Things have been heating up here in Christchurch city as we approach the Audiodreams date, 4th September. With 150 free tickets being given away, this event has generated a lot of interest. I’ve been working on a new track, which I’m looking forward to playing for the first time at Audiodreams.

Here is my latest mixset for my Thursday night slot on 105.7 Pulzar FM. There’s a bunch of new tracks in here, so I figure it deserves its own blog post. There’s not so much electro in this mix, so it makes a nice contrast to my previous recording.

My latest mixset for 105.7 Pulzar FM. This set focuses more on the electro side of house than my previous sets. After three introduction tracks to tempt you in to the mix, the set journeys into a harder realm of electrohouse before returning to a more melodic sound to complete the journey.

As with all my mixset recordings, this one will be broadcast on 105.7 Pulzar FM during my slot on Thursday nights at 10pm.

In other news, I am currently working on a new track, which is a mashup of a few tunes, which I’ve re-edited to fit into the production. Its coming along nicely, and I’ll hopefully have it ready to post here in a few days. I’ll be playing it at the next Audiodreams night on 4th September.

Another journey through the realm of house. This set starts with a nice funky/disco house track, but don’t get lured into a false sense of security. After this easy going beginning, the set moves through some nice chunky electro beats before heading into the tribal zone. From there we have a reprise of the electro sound with an easy going finish with the theme from Tetris.

As with all my mixset recordings, this one will be broadcast on 105.7 Pulzar FM during my slot on Thursday nights at 10pm.

Another fine offering from Christchurch City’s Rob Munro aka therobsta. This mixset comprises the best in funky rhythms, saxaphones, lots of vocals, and a mix of traditional and cutting edge house basslines. In both live and pre-recorded contexts, Rob always produces engaging mixes of music that take audiences on meaningful journeys. I often enter into debates about DJ’ing and what makes a good DJ. Many people have the misconception that technical skill is all that’s required to make a good DJ. I disagree. The more I think about it, the more I have come to realize that it is song selection that makes a good DJ. For some people this will be obvious, but surprisingly this simple fact is often forgotten by DJs when they play live. I have to say that in the case of therobsta, we get both–good technical skill and excellent track selection.
