Things have been busy. I DJ’d at the Christchurch City, Royal A&P Show on Thursday with 2 of my DJ students. We were located in the “Rampage” Zone, and supplied music between a range of other acts. It was a wonderful day in the sun, with thousands of people enjoying the fair. We had a steady flow of people through our zone, and the crowd response was excellent.

This set is a departure from my recent mixes. Here we launch with a selection of electro-house sounds and journey through to some tribal house.

I pride myself on diversity in the music I play. Many DJs stick very closely to a single, particular style, but I prefer to have a range of styles in my collection. I am discerning about the music, but am not limited to any particular sub-genre of house.

This set starts with some uplifting, vocal Latin House and then takes you on a journey into the realm of Disco House. I always like to bring my sets full circle (well, the studio sets, anyway), so this one finishes with a return to the Latin sound.

Maestro B - The Right Way

Its been a busy couple of weeks with lots of clubnights, a PulzarFM promo, radio show, and even a Scottish party. On Saturday night I played the opening 2 hours at Liquidity for resident DJ Andy Pulzar. Its a nice bar, with a lush decor, perfect for the style of house that I play.

Last night I DJ’d at a Scottish night, which was an interesting change. I played mainly house music, infused with samples from famous Scottish actors and loops from well known bagpipe tunes. Seemed to sound okay…I should have recorded it.

This set launches straight into some nice disco/funky house grooves before transitioning into a slightly harder sound. Then, as always, the set comes full circle and ends where we started, with a discohouse sound. Another nice journey.
